Vision Statement

The Social Studies Department at Beville Middle School is dedicated to preparing Beville students for success in high school and for their role as responsible citizens by opening the eyes and minds of our students – as well as our own—to the world, to the past and the present, and to the promise of a bright future. It is our goal to prepare future citizens to participate with compassion and responsibility in an evolving global society as life-long learners.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Beville Middle School Social Studies Department is to develop citizenship in a global community by providing students with the skills and understandings they need to become educated, effective and responsible citizens in a democratic society. As citizens of a culturally diverse and increasingly interdependent world, our students will develop the ability to make informed and reasoned decisions with regard to the needs of regional, national and global communities. Students will be provided with the skills and knowledge to enable them to become productive and responsible citizens by exceeding the competencies set forth by the Virginia State Department of Education.
